CDA – Carbon Dynamic Airbox
The CDA filtering system is composed of a cylindrical carbon fibre airbox containing a washable filtering element. The choice of this composite material is due to the fact that carbon has low thermal conductivity allowing insulation from the engine heat to the aspirated air. Replacing the original airbox with the CDA means that fresh air is channelled directly to the filter, thermally insulated inside the carbon airbox and then conveyed to the engine through an air flow deflector with minimum loss of power (patented system).
The kit also contains a flexible aluminium tube (60 cm. length) to connect the CDA system to a frontal air intake. The CDA was created as a universal system fitting most kinds of car; the different applications are completed by a wide range of accessories that are necessary for the installation. The CDA is available in two versions: the first with an external diameter of 130 mm which is recommended for engines of up to 1600 cc. and the second with an external diameter of 150 mm. for greater displacements. CDA Specific Kits There is also a wide range of CDASP applications available. These are complete ready-to-mount kits specifically created for particular car models. The special kits often derive from a universal CDA with added specifically developed pipe fittings and reduction units, while in other cases the CDASP is customised to fit from single components with special flanges, made to measure for the specific vehicle. Advanced Technology The CDA filtration system is connected to a frontal air intake via a flexible aluminium tube. Thanks to the dynamic air intake you get a real supercharging system that conveys fresh air to the air box at a speed and capacity greater than that of traditional systems. The air flow entering the dynamic air intake is accelerated further thanks to the air flow deflector inside the carbon fibre airbox. Dynamic over-boosting, greater air flow, higher pressure and colder air are the elements which help to significantly increase the performance of the engine both in terms of power and torque, as demonstrated by dyno tests carried out.
The CDA is also available in a number of special versions with specific flanges for direct connection to the air sensor or with different dimensions according to the model of the car.
